There were a couple of necessary breaks in the proceedings, over the Christmas season and whilst awaiting delivery of bespoke items, but at all other times there were never less than two men on site, who invariably worked diligently and politely.

Over the past year, pete baldwin and his team have been working on the full conversion of my two cottages in to a single property. This has involved putting in a joist and step at the ‘break through’ wall to allow the two properties to be joined together, full roof insulation, dormer reconstruction, renewal of rotten floor boards, plastering, fitting five new windows, restoring and decorating old panelling, and plumbing- fitting of a new boiler and central heating and a new bathroom. Pete manages an excellent team of workmen. They work well together as a team, are flexible to personalised requirements, and in my case have produced sympathetic, good quality work in keeping with the early 1800’s date of the house. They are reliable and are flexible.
I am happy to very strongly recommend them and indeed i used them because they were recommended to me.

Pete built us a beautiful new kitchen, knocking down two walls, replacing the floor and opening up a new window. They were excellent, trustworthy and always reliable, quickly finding practical solutions to any problems that arose.
Pete provided all the building, plumbing, electrical and carpentry work and his skilled team were a pleasure to have in our home. They work to a very high standard with excellent attention to detail and are thoroughly recommended.

Peter and his team are complete heroes. They created a beautiful space in my cottage kitchen/diner, which included removal of a load-bearing wall and fitting velux window. Peter Baldwin, a family builder built a kitchen extension to our home in 2018. He was introduced by a close friend. Having met Peter and had the opportunity to view his work, my wife and I were very comfortable to go ahead with the work.

We employed Peter Baldwin as he was a local builder and was recommended to us. The work that we needed doing was quite complex and with his help and experience it was finished too perfection. The work consisted of knocking down some existing buildings and replacing with a large garage which included extending the kitchen, excavating and laying a beautiful driveway, dropped kerb and porch.
Peter and his team which consisted mainly of his family, were all highly skilled and efficient. We came across a problem with planning but once again Peter came to our rescue and put us in touch with Monica Ryan, an architect from Eastbourne who sorted out the problem and everything went like clockwork. The whole team were punctual, courteous and tidy. The original estimate was adhered too in spite of carrying out other little jobs.

I have used Peter Baldwin and his firm Baldwin builders, on a regular basis for building work at our house for over 8 years. In that time mr Baldwin and his team have built a 95 square metre extension to our house. 2 floors which wrapped around the existing house.
Mr Baldwin was excellent at listening to what our requirements were, advising on what he thought were alternative options and suggested ways of overcoming problems. His team of workers compliment him with a depth and breadth of knowledge, in regards to accomplishing building work. When he brings other trades onto the site, you can be sure that they are of a high quality as Mr Baldwin does not suffer fools gladly or employ shoddy tradesmen. Mr Baldwin and his team were always on time in the mornings and ensure a full days work was achieved.
After building the extension to out house, when we wanted a large patio area built, then a drive way brick paved, we went to mr Baldwin both times. We knew the quality of the work would be excellent and that we could feel safe in that assumption.
Earlier on in this year Mr Baldwin and his team rebuilt all the lintels in the house ready for double glazing, replaced all the soffits and ensured all the tiles and felting were of quality to stand another 50 years.
He also recommended the local double glazing company, who were excellent with there installation and price.

Peter Baldwin converted a cupboard in the hall of this listed building into a ground floor cloakroom. The work was carried out with great care to protect the historic structure and finished to a high standard. Now it looks as though it has always been there!
Peter’s team were considerate and helpful and minimised the disruption as we were living in the house at the time. They coped with the changes that we made as they went along and carefully incorporated the stained glass which we found on e-bay!
